After reading within days, three of her books (the Trylle Trilogy) I decided to see what else she had written. Hollowland was the next book I found by Amanda Hocking. This book was another awesome book. The main character is Remy; you go along with her as she travels through the wasteland that the world has become. Remy is an amazing heroin in this book. She is tough and keeps herself and others grounded. This book was awesome. Suspense, danger, love, fear, it has it all. It kept me on edge. This was an action filled book. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen you’re shocked. I read it in one night. The only drawback was I didn’t know it was a part of a series (The Hollows) until I got to the end of the book. I was shocked and a little mad at having to wait to read more. I am anxiously waiting for the second book (Hollowmen due out October 2011). After the shock of left hanging (my own stupidity I had no idea it was the first of a series that is in progress if I would have known I wouldn’t have been so shocked and stuck on it) I decided to see what else Amanda Hocking had.
I found the My Blood Approves series. I wasn’t too sure, I had recently read all four of the Twilight books and wasn’t really feeling diving back into vampires. But I thought since Amanda writes so well and it’s easy to read and is so, mmm how can I explain it, hip, now? That works, her writing seems so real maybe she could put a different spin on vampires for me. So, My Blood Approves was next.

Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking
This first review is not about a Vampire Trilogy but it opened the doors to so many other books. The trilogy was too good not to mention.
So it all began. Seriously, the day I got my Nook (back in February 2011) I searched the Barnes & Noble website for books. I came across a Nook Book for only $0.99. It was titles Switched. What really caught my eye (besides the price) was the cover art. It looked cool so I checked out the review. The overview was very vague and brief. No, I don’t want a summary of the book but three sentences really wasn’t a whole lot to go by. With the price what it was I figured why not? No real harm. I have always had an issue with books not catching my attention or after so many pages I lose interest. I was pleasantly surprised with the book. I couldn’t put it down. The way Amanda writes is awesome. The book and story line really drew me in. The main character is Wendy, right away you can relate to her. Honestly, who hasn’t at some point thought they might be adopted (ha ha ha). We should think it could be a whole lot different that’s for sure. Switched opens you up to the possibility of a whole other world within our own. I have a young child so the majority of my reading is done when he is asleep. I read Switched into the early hours of the morning. You become entwined in Wendy’s life. Her journey into her new world and her love life and what all it brings. I just could not put it down. I had to force myself to go to sleep and wait until the following day to read the next book. The awesome thing is that yes I got hooked with the first book (it was only $0.99) and now I HAVE to get the other two. Major plus is they were available and not expensive at all.
The second book in the trilogy is Torn. It dives deeper into the new world Wendy finds herself in. She starts to accept her new life and all that comes with it. The third book is Ascend. That finally completes everything. I fell in love with the characters. It felt like I became a part of Wendy. I read all three books in less than three days. They were amazing. I loved the books so much I wanted to read more. Of course there was no more it was a trilogy, only three books.
I didn’t want to write a lot about the books but I highly recommend the series. I could grade each book with an A! Each one kept me wanting more.
So now what?.....

Getting Started
I received a Nook for my birthday back in March. Since then I have been reading non-stop. I love reading Vampire Books, especially series or trilogies. I found it difficult to find books that appealed to me and that were newer and drew me in. Since my birthday (three months ago) I have read 26 books (on 27 now). Out of those 26 only 4 were not about vampires. I decided to write my own reviews about the books I have read to help others decide which ones they might want to "bite" into. Since I have started reading I have gathered a long list of books I want to read. So, I will be writing reviews on the three series of books I have already read and will then write reviews after each book. I hope that someone finds it interesting if nothing else.
